Enamelled Poppy Pin Brooches

Enamelled Sterling Silver Poppies Pin Brooches.

Vitreous enamel is glass which is carefully ground into very fine grains using a pestle and mortar. This is washed several times to be rid of any impurities. It's carefully placed on to the metal using tools such as a quill, small brushes or a spatula. Then fired onto metal at temperatures between 750 and 850 °C . The word Vitreous comes from the Latin vitreum, meaning "glass".
